Why Are More People Using Vegan Shampoo?
Just because it says cruelty free shampoo and conditioner on the bottle doesn’t necessarily mean that it is a vegan shampoo. Currently vegan shampoo can be a general shampoo that can be used for all hair types. But now consumers want to use ethical shampoos that must tick all the right ethical boxes.
The shampoo must be…
- cruelty free,
- healthy for the hair
- environmentally friendly,
- and of course, do the best job.
Why Are People Going Vegan?
Veganism has become a huge juggernaut of ideals for a way of living that excludes all forms of the exploitation of and cruelty to animals whether that be for food or any other purpose. The vegan movement is prevalent in society and culture today. The more people that are curious and talk about veganism the more they are aware of the facts and the benefits on going vegan.
There are a number of reasons why people are making the shift to veganism. The most common reasons is for the rights of the animals. Let’s face it, we know the animals aren’t kept in the best conditions in most cases and studies have shown the animal welfare is below sub-par! Peta is one of the biggest animal movement groups that are exposing people to videos and images that really get them thinking. Others believe it’s better for the environment and helps reduce the number of animal extinctions worldwide.
The vegan lifestyle, in the past wasn’t as accessible as it is now. But because of it being more common in the community there is a vast increase for more vegan friendly options. Vegans are now spoilt for choice on luxury items. There are so many amazing and better alternatives out there to opt for non-animal derived products. So, when you purchase vegan you know it is 100% cruelty free. Influential brands are coming out with their own line of creating vegan focused shampoo, Fanola being one of them.
Why Did Fanola Create A Vegan Shampoo?
We wanted to create a fantastic vegan and cruelty free product for our blonde vegan beauties. The Fanola No Yellow Vegan Shampoo line was made for blondes that want to rid themselves of unwanted yellow tones without having the stigma of using animal products. This range is to target blondes that want that cool blonde hair tone. The buzz about No Yellow vegan shampoo is that it is just as effective as the original but without the use of any animal by product whatsoever. You can still be a vegan with beautiful platinum locks. The No Yellow Mask is also now made in vegan too!
Changing to a vegan product not only helps the animals of the world but it also has proven to be better for those who have sensitive skin. Vegan products that are manufactured have more natural and plant-based replacements to expel the nasty harsh chemicals that they have replaced. Making it a far more organic shampoo choice that is also a healthier shampoo for hair.
Unfortunately, though animal testing is still a common practice in some countries. Exempting Europe. Fanola being an Italian owned and manufactured brand must abide by strict European laws regarding cosmetics and haircare in the hair and beauty industry with zero animal testing. In Europe it is a compulsory legislation of EU regulation for all beauty and hair products to be cruelty free certified. So, we proud ourselves on being an advocate for cruelty free products here at Fanola.
No Yellow Vegan Shampoo Differences
What differentiates the Vegan No yellow from its original No Yellow Formula is because of the swapping of the animal product for a plant-based substitute instead. The original formula contained the active ingredients of Hydrolysed Silk Protein. Hydrolysed silk protein replenishes the hair by penetrating through the hair shaft, forming a protective barrier around the hair and improving hair resistance against breakage. Hydrolysed silk protein comes from silkworms.
The new replacement ingredients in no yellow vegan shampoo is Baobab Seed Oil. Baobab seed oil comes from the seeds of the Adansonia tree, the most prominent tree in Africa. It is also known in Africa as the upside-down tree because from a distance it looks like the branches are roots, giving them an upside-down appearance. The Baobab has a good source of many important vitamins and minerals. Specifically, the seeds; they are loaded with fibre, fat and micro-nutrients like thiamine, calcium and iron.
Baobab seed oil is quite viscous, with a rich, silky and delicate aroma. It’s quite likened to argan oil without having the weighed down feeling in the hair. As it has anti- inflammatory capabilities that soothe a sensitive, dry, itchy and irritated scalp. The silky texture and nourishing properties make it a perfect scalp massage oil too. High in vitamin A, D, E and F as well as omega 3,6 and 9 fatty acids. It seeps into the hair follicle to enrich the hair.

The shampoo is a highly violet pigmented solution toning unwanted yellow colours in blonde, bleached and lightened hair. An effective cleanser regenerating and repairing damaged hair without it feeling dehydrated and yet still gentle on the scalp. The conditioner with the added natural lotion of shea butter conditions and detangles the hair making it feel soft with an added glossy shine.
